Meet Katy
Katy has loved making dens, collecting shells and closing her eyes on swings, since she was small. Writing stories and drawing is just an elaborate ruse to keep doing these things and call them "research". It is also an excuse to spend time with small people who know a lot more about the important things in life than she does.
Writing and illustration became a bigger part of Katy's time when she got stuck at home due to chronic illness. Her stories and pictures grew out of things she felt God spoke to her and the places they went, even when she couldn't leave her bed. He's the one who never leaves us behind.
Katy is working on her first big children's book, which includes a magical map, a bossy squirrel and an underground music hall.
Katy is married to a man who occasionally dresses up with a chicken on his head. Her two raucous children help her dream up ridiculous names and magical victorian inventions. Their beautiful council estate has a secret stream that runs like a seam of gold through the middle and is watched over by elderly hills. Sometimes you can find her foraging around for Jesus lights, but otherwise she will be drinking tea. She drinks enough of it to give Buckingham Palace a moat and a fountain - see below.)
